Camp Wins $11,000 in Geico FastPitch!

Camp Opportunity is thrilled to announce that we were awarded $11,000 through the Geico FastPitch competition! This exciting achievement was made possible thanks to Cheryl Hale, a Geico employee and longtime supporter of Camp Opportunity. Cheryl pitched our mission during the competition and advanced us to the final round, where she pitched again with the support of our board member Patty Ballinger in attendance.

To celebrate the win, the Geico gecko made a special visit to camp and surprised our campers during lunch with the check presentation. The children were overjoyed to meet the gecko, making the moment unforgettable.

Cheryl’s daughters have also volunteered as camp counselors, making this award especially meaningful. Her dedication is a shining example of the incredible community of supporters who continue to “pitch” for our mission—often without us even asking.
