Why Volunteer?

Volunteering at camp is an opportunity to grow as a leader while making a meaningful impact in a child’s life. As a volunteer, you’ll develop practical leadership skills such as communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and teamwork, all while learning how to show up as a consistent, trusted adult.

Volunteers walk away with a stronger sense of purpose, community, increased self-awareness, and skills that translate far beyond camp—into school, work, and future helping professions. By choosing to volunteer, you are directly contributing to our mission of creating safe, supportive experiences for children who need them most.

WHAT to expect

As a counselor, you’ll spend the week:

  • Supporting campers through daily camp activities, providing encouragement, structure, and care;

  • Helping campers feel safe, seen, and included while fully participating in camp life—playing, creating, exploring, and building meaningful memories together.

You’ll engage in activities like: hiking, swimming, arts and crafts, and daily “Journey” classes that give campers space to explore their resilience in a supportive environment.

As a member of our Rec Staff, you’ll support the behind-the-scenes magic that makes camp possible. Including:

  • Setting up and breaking down activities;

  • Assisting counselors and staff daily;

  • Helping run camp programming smoothly throughout the week.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking compassionate, dependable individuals who believe in the power of safe relationships and have a genuine passion for our mission.

Our counselors must be at least 16 years of age, while support staff may be 15+. All volunteers must be willing to complete required background checks and fingerprinting to ensure the safety and well-being of our campers.

Training is provided for all staff members and is mandatory, taking place the weekend before campers arrive and includes both in-person and online learning opportunities. Our training equips counselors with trauma-informed tools, camp policies, and practical skills to help them feel confident and supported in their role.

Student volunteers are welcome, and we are happy to provide service hours for those fulfilling academic or program requirements.
