changed for good.
A week at camp. A lifetime of change.
This season, we’re celebrating the incredible impact our supporters make all year long. Our campers come to Camp Opportunity having experienced abuse or neglect, often without knowing why they were referred. But in just one week at camp, everything changes.
Because of you, kids who have been through the unimaginable can feel safe, joyful, and empowered.
“Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.”
Give the gift of camp and help transform a child’s life in 2026.
Watch how your generosity transforms our campers’ lives.
This year, a line from Wicked kept echoing in our minds:
“Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.”
It’s a line that captures exactly what happens at Camp Opportunity — for our campers, for our counselors, and for everyone who makes this work possible. This summer, 57 children arrived at camp carrying stories far heavier than any child should bear. Many of them didn’t know why they’d been referred. They just knew they were going to summer camp — a place that, for one transformative week, felt safe, joyful, and free. And because of you, that’s exactly what they found.
They swam. They sang. They tried new things. They built friendships and trust. They met counselors who showed up for them in ways they’ll never forget. They experienced a childhood moment that many of us take for granted — the chance to simply be a kid. And in that week, something inside them changed.
At the end of the summer, we proudly celebrated the graduation of 18 campers who had aged out of our program. Each one left with new confidence, new memories, and a community that will always believe in them. With those graduations, new opportunities open up. In 2026, we plan to welcome 60 campers — bringing back returning campers who rely on Camp Opportunity as a safe place each year, and also inviting new campers who need the support, connection, and joy that camp provides.
Your gift today ensures that next year’s campers — returning and new — will experience the same joy and healing our 57 campers found this summer.
